Mabella Farrer

Genetic Counsellor at Addenbrooke’s Hospital

Mabella trained and practiced as a nurse, qualifying in both Adult Nursing and Sick Children’s Nursing as well as Intensive Care of the Newborn.  

Following many years in nursing, she moved into genetics, working at the London IDEAS Genetic s Knowledge Park focussing on families with Familial Hypercholesterolaemia and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

Mabella then moved to Cambridge as a Trainee Genetic Counsellor following an MSc in Genetic Counselling, and is a now a registered genetic counsellor at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Mabella works with families and individuals with a variety of different genetic conditions and is the lead genetic counsellor for Von Hippel-Lindau Disease (VHL)
